Since our last update we’ve seen the new administration start to make good on its terrifying promises. Muslims, trans and undocumented folks are being targeted and emboldened white supremacists are threatening Jewish communities.
But something else is happening:
New alliances are forming - full of hope and possibility.
We are reminded of Rev. Dr. King’s assertion that we are “caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny”.
We’ve been busy: protesting at DTW, forming a work group to rally against the Muslim ban and deportations, and welcoming over 30 new leaders into the DJJ ranks at our first-ever orientation. They are determined, passionate, and ready to integrate into our work - right at the moment we need them most.
Our Purim team has been hard at work planning a celebration to fortify us with laughter and community - and remind us that the good guys can win. We hope you’ll join us on the 12th to cheer on education justice activists Mordechai and Esther and to shake your graggers at this year’s Haman: Besty D’Oy Vey.
Finally, we know many of you are looking to us to stay in the loop about urgent actions. Please follow the instructions below to tell us how often you want to hear from us and update other important information.
Yours,
Eleanor

an Amazon wish list where you can donate supplies.
