Our friends at D15 have asked us to rally with them and over a dozen other social justice organizations outside the GOP debate in Downtown Detroit this coming Thursday. Republicans are using Detroit as a backdrop to promote neoliberal policies that have wreaked havoc on this and other cities in Michigan. We are gathering to say: No to emergency management! Yes to a strong labor movement! No to environmental racism! Yes to a living wage!
We'll gather for happy hour at Cliff Bell's at 5 pm (2030 Park Ave) and then head over to the rally staging area at the Michigan Voice parking lot near Cass Park (2727 2nd Ave) starting at 6 pm. (NOTE: This is a changed location from the staging area at Central United Methodist that was advertised earlier.)
