Who is Myra?

Myra Wolfgang was a feminist labor leader in Detroit, who was given the title, the 'Battling Belle of Detroit.' She earned this nickname through her work as the chair of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the chief executive officer of Local 705. In memory of Myra, and the long history of Jewish progressives in Metro Detroit, we will celebrate work—both within and outside the Jewish community—that is moving us towards a better world.

Who is being honored?

Would DJJ be putting on the cultural event of the year without a little intrigue!?  Our honorees will be announced in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your inboxes and our social media for updates! You can look here to see some of our amazing past honorees!
