This beautiful piece of art was created by DJJ Leader Hannah Lewis for the Wolfgang Awards Honorees. We want to share its powerful message with all of you as a new year’s offering.
Drawing from rich biblical motifs, Hannah reminds me of two things about our work for collective liberation:
- We are participating in an ancient process of discerning how to be human.
- We believe that there is enough resource in this beautiful and broken world to support the thriving of all beings.
These truths animate us,
whether it’s marching in solidarity with UAW workers,
challenging antisemitism and islamophobia,
or sustaining our growing community.
Detroit Jews for Justice would like to wish you a sweet new year filled with health, abundance, and justice.
L’shanah tovah!
