The Freedom Team is embarking a three-meeting arc where we'll learn how to run educational workshops like pros. Offering education to our community is an essential skill for changing hearts and minds and agitating Metro Detroit Jews to support local movements. Leaders will leave the series of trainings with an understanding of how they can facilitate workshops that support DJJ's work -- whether that's educating a local synagogue about a partner's campaign; or teaching fellow DJJ leaders a module about white supremacy; or another topic. We hope to offer additional trainings in the coming year that will build our organizing toolboxes -- so we can deploy more powerfully than ever for our community partners and campaigns with confidence in our skills. Leaders will embark on the series with a small group and finish the process with a completed workshop to present to DJJ leaders at the May General Meeting; and other opportunities in the future.  This month we'll start the arc learning about Topic and Research!

Meeting 1 (February 1st) - Topic and Research: Learn why education workshops are important for an organizing; choose a topic to develop with a small group of leaders; and leave with some research tips so you can get started.

Meeting 2 (March 1st)- Facilitation Skills : Whether you're brand new to leading workshops or a seasoned facilitator, we can always better our facilitation skills! You'll leave this session with tips, guidance, and practice for leading an engaging workshop, supporting participants' learning, and seeming really cool while doing all of it.

Meeting 3 (April 5th) - Workshop Design : There's so much to teach and learn, and so little time to do it! This final meeting in the series will train you on how to design a workshop, build an effective agenda, and incorporate different activities that will bring the content of your workshop home.
