Equitable Internet Comes to DJJ

This week DJJ was thrilled to welcome the Equitable Internet Initiative (EII) into our office!

The EII is an amazing group of talented media makers, community leaders, and visionaries that are spreading internet access through Southwest Detroit, Southeast Detroit and the North End. Their goal is to bring these communities online, encourage youth to seek advanced digital literacy training, and make sure that Detroiters have the ability to use digital technology.

We're so excited to join the North End EII as a node in a mesh network that consists of residents, a community radio station (WNUC), and other places of faith. We are so grateful for EII for their incredible work in building out this infrastructure and to the leadership at Breakers Covenant Church International for supporting this collaboration. We are totally humbled, thrilled, and completely geeked out about plugging into this emerging digital community. Come on by to the new office to surf the rad e-waves -- our upload and download speeds are excellent!

PS Our office space is coming together nicely, though we still need a few more items to help us feel fully settled. We've got a furniture & supplies wishlist here -- thanks for checking it out & supporting our growing work!
