Coming Together for DJJ's December Orientation

30 new and returning leaders gathered together last night for orientation, an opportunity hear about DJJ's work, learn our core principles, get plugged into water and housing justice campaigns, and get to know each other.

We heard from Steering Committee member, Susannah, about our history, core principles, and structure.

We learned from Barry and Rondi, rockstars from our Water Team, about the People's Water Board Coalition and our role in the fight for water justice in Detroit.

Dana gave a comprehensive overview of the tax foreclosure crisis, the work we have been doing to support the efforts to keep people in their homes, and how we can get involved.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from Rabbi Alana about why we do Justice Jewishly and learned together about our Grassroots Fundraising Approach.

Big thanks to all of the leaders who grounded us in our work, explained the importance of our presence in the fight for justice, and created a welcoming and special space. A huge Y'shkoyach to our Steering Committee member, Emma Wine, who organized the entire orientation, creating this wonderful opportunity for folks new the DJJ community to be welcomed.
