Here at DJJ we do Justice Jewishly--and every year, we do Purim amazingly. That's right, we're fast approaching our 4th Annual Purim Extravaganza on MARCH 31! Last year we had our best Purim yet, but we plan to top ourselves once again. This year, leading the charge on our Shpiel will be new DJJ-nik Lindsay McCaw, who will serve as our Shpiel producer. You can get to know a little bit about Lindsay below!
Lindsay McCaw is an artist who is honored to be joining DJJ as the Purim Shpiel producer for 2019. She has lived in Southwest Detroit for five years and works as a puppeteer in Detroit and elsewhere.
She is originally from Iowa and she has worked on theatre and puppetry projects for the past two decades all over the US and abroad. Companies you may have heard of that she has worked with include: In The Heart of the Beast Theatre in Minneapolis and Bread and Puppet Theatre in Glover VT. In Detroit she works for Carrie Morris Arts Productions-also known as the "Puppet House" in Hamtramck. She is also part of the Detroit Square Dance Society, which has been hosting square dances for almost four years. Most of her work involves activism and community and she is excited to help DJJ make an informative and transformative and entertaining Shpiel this year.
