What should (metro) Detroit Jews know in order to better fight for collective liberation? To answer this question, Detroit Jews for Justice is hosting a presentation potluck picnic! We want our community to come together to teach and learn about issues outside of DJJ’s core work. These brief presentations (or activities) could be on issues, history, campaigns, theories, or struggles – anything that relates to collective liberation. Perhaps your block club is grappling with challenging questions, you’ve done lots of learning about an international issue, or your workplace is incorporating disability justice. Or….infinite other possibilities! Come tell us about what your brain is passionate about! And bring your kids/grandparents/cousins/comrades!
Date: Monday, June 26th
Time: 6-8pm
Location: 440 Burroughs Street, Detroit (TechTown Garden across the street from the building, with option to move inside if weather does not cooperate)
Food: We will prepare some food, but encourage attendees to bring a dish to share! If you do, please bring a label with dietary information.
If you have something you want to teach about, please apply to present at this form! If you would like help developing your idea, please reach out to Solomon ([email protected]).
If you just want to learn from some smart people, RSVP below!
