We need to celebrate our wins! Governor Whitmer signed a bill expanding the statewide civil rights bill to include anti-discrimination protection for gender identity and sexual orientation! It's a huge accomplishment for the Hate Won't Win Coalition, a group DJJ has been a part of. So we are coming together to celebrate! 

While we love to celebrate, this is also a critical time for the Coalition for Property Tax Justice in preventing property tax foreclosures. The foreclosure deadline is on March 31st -- there is federal money available for people with outstanding property taxes dating back to 2016. If they make an appointment with Wayne Metro (who is administering the federal funds) before March 31st, they will be taken off the foreclosure list, so we are going to call people on the list to urge them to make appointments.
