Hi DJJ,

I'm Jacob (he/him) and I'm excited to be interning at DJJ this summer.

I just finished my second year at Grinnell College, where I'm studying philosophy.  For the past two years, I've been organizing with the Union of Grinnell Student Dining Workers, the only independent undergraduate labor union in the country.  I've learned a lot about the labor movement and organizing people that I'm excited to bring to DJJ.

I'm originally from Ann Arbor, where I grew up in the Reconstructionist congregation.  I'm really looking forward to engaging deeply with Detroit and learning how to integrate my social justice work with my Jewish identity.  From now until the end of August, I'll be working on communications, planning the Wolfgang awards, and assisting with DJJ's campaigns.

I'm so excited to start to get know the DJJ community and do some awesome work with you all!
