After conducting a thorough national search, we are thrilled to introduce DJJ’s new Executive Director: longtime leader and staff organizer, Allie Zeff. Allie has been an essential part of the leadership team that has helped grow and strengthen DJJ, positioning us to make a greater impact in the coming years.
One of the things that excites us most about Allie is her versatility. About Allie, R. Alana says,
“Before joining the staff, she shared her talents to our community as an artist, then as an event organizer, then as a campaign activist, then as grassroots fundraising leader. She has done ALL THE THINGS! In her role as Organizer for Campaigns and Education she has forged lasting relationships across the local justice landscape, lovingly coached countless activists coming into more effective leadership, and led a critical expansion of our organizing infrastructure.”
Now that R. Alana knows whose badass leadership this effort will support, she is doubling-down on meeting our fundraising goal to ensure a healthy transition. Click here to learn more about the Mountaintop Campaign.
Allie is creative, experienced, hopeful, and collaborative. In a time when it is so challenging to be a leader in our movements, we are grateful to Allie for choosing to step in and up with us.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating this milestone by making a donation in her honor.
Brucha ha’baah, Allie! May you be blessed in coming more fully into your leadership -- as we have been blessed by you.
L’shalom/Towards Wholeness,
Syma Echeandia, on behalf of the Hiring Committee
