Volunteer Attorneys To Represent Protesters Arrested in Detroit during Protests
Between May 29 and June 2, 2020, hundreds of protesters were arrested by the Detroit Police during participation in the protests of the police murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Daily protests have continued and are ongoing.

Volunteer attorneys are needed to assist with a range of work, from criminal representation to assistance in areas such as legal research or collaborating on legal workshops for protesters such as Legal Self Defense and others. The organizations listed below are working together to ensure that every arrested protester has a movement-oriented attorney to advocate for him, them, or her and that we have a coordinated defense strategy. We are committed to providing effective and accountable legal support for Black liberation struggles happening in Detroit in the wake of this uprising.
