When I returned to Detroit more than 2 years ago I knew that finding and building a Jewish Community was important to me. Lucky for me, Nora Feldhusen had reached out to tell me about Detroit Jews for Justice and, unbeknownst to me, recruit me as Organizing Chair. She succeeded and I couldn't be happier about it; DJJ has since been my home and my vessel for practicing my Jewish values and organizing for social justice in the city. I have been lucky to contribute to our Paid Sick Leave and Regional Transit Campaigns, as well as help develop our Campaign Advisory Team, now an efficient governance and organizing tool. It makes me kvel to see the sincere and meaningful connections DJJ has made in supporting progressive Detroit organizations such as the Peoples Water Board, Motor City Freedom Riders, and Mothering Justice. So far DJJ has done amazing things to educate and organize metro Detroit Jews, all the while taking real action on important regional issues; I look forward to seeing how much more we can accomplish together. Thank you for helping support DJJ and a more just metro-Detroit region.

We will not stand idly by while the administration escalates its attacks on Muslims, Arabs, refugees and immigrants. We pledge to show up: in the streets, at the airport, in our decision-makers’ offices and inboxes. Compelled by Jewish values, history and self-interest, we commit to the struggle against white supremacy and bigotry in all its forms.
