DJJ at Let My People Sing

Dyll Welch, Valeriya Epshteyn, Jake Ehrlich, Nina Chacker, and Nina's son, Oscar, attended Let My People Sing at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center August 23rd-26th. They gathered together with a diverse, intergenerational group of 250 other lovers of Jewish song to share new and old music, connect to ancestry, and sing their way through healing, grief, joy, longing, and liberation.

At Let My People Sing, "We sing and share an array of Jewish song traditions, inclusive of a wide range of Jewish ancestry and religious practices. We believe in the liberatory potential of song and the importance of a vibrant Jewish singing culture."

Dyll shared, "The retreat restored the acts of singing and making music to their rightful places at the center of my life! I'm now singing and speaking from a resonant and embodied voice."

Hazon Detroit graciously subsidized their travel and registration costs. We're so grateful for their generous support of our growing community and for making this deeply moving experience possible. The participants are excited to share the joy of song with the DJJ community and bring back new melodies to guide us in our work.
