DJJ Intergenerational Social Gathering

"Joy doesn't betray but sustains activism. And when you face a politics that aspires to make you fearful, alienated and isolated, joy is a fine initial act of insurrection" -- Rebecca Solnit

Ever wanted to simply just hang with DJJniks of all ages and interests in a casual environment??

Your opportunity awaits you the evening of July 16th at Oren's home in Southwest Detroit! We will be making cherry pies using Oren's cherry beautiful backyard orchard, BBQing, and helping Oren with his garden. BYOB if you'd like to bring alcoholic beverages. We will have delicious food and delectable non-alcoholic drink. DJJ will provide food for grilling & some snacks. If you'd like to help curate ambiance, please bring cushiony pillows/blankets for outdoor lounging, or a couple of dollars to offset the cost of the event.

This social event is more than frying kosher dogs & baking desserts. This sort of space is the convivial glue that binds our community together, that deepens relationships for the long haul, that celebrates our humanity as we continue in other spaces to make that humanity more just.

RSVP below so we can know how many people we're planning for and be in touch. All ages are welcome. Let us know if you'd like to coordinate a carpool (sharing your address below helps!) Contact [email protected] or (248) 802-5302 with questions.
