I had the privilege of attending the Muslim Anti-Racism Collaborative gala with Eleanor Gamalski and Dana Kornberg on behalf of Detroit Jews for Justice. It was incredible to be able to be there for an organization doing such amazing work, in line with a lot of DJJ's values as well. I found their goal of utilizing a house they bought to create community space and a physical center for important organizing so brilliant. I was inspired by their drive to fight for racial equality, rooted in their faith. To me, the best part of the event was the keynote speaker, Dr. Rami Nashashibi. He spoke a lot about the responsibility we have for working toward racial justice, even when it means making tough and unpopular decisions.
